In the genealogy of Abel, Lamech lived (pious) one hundred eighty-two years, and had a son and called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the land which the Lord hath cursed.
And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety-five years, and begat sons and daughters.
And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy-seven years and he died.
In the genealogy of Cain, (wicked man) And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael and Mehujael begot Methuselah, and Methuselah begat Lamech. And Lamech took unto him two wives; the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of those who live in tents and have cattle. And the name of his brother was Jubal, who was the father of all who play the harp and flute.
And Zillah also bore Tubal-cain, the creator of any work in bronze and iron, and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
But as the days of Noah, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man.
