The Book of Colossians (study)

One of the four short epistles that Paul wrote from prison. The other three are Philippians, Ephesians and Philemon. The Epistle to the Colossians focuses on the person and work of Jesus Christ. Reached unparalleled levels of expression as to what is said of Christ in the Bible. It has themes and common carriers to Ephesians, and sent along with Philemon (Col. 4.9, 17) and another letter to Laodicea (4.16). Paul does not indicate from which prison he writes. His teammates Marcos (4.10) and Lucas (4.14) would be with him in Rome between 61 and 63 AD
Content
Like most of the letters of Paul, Colossians could be divided into a doctrinal section (Chapters 1-2) and practical (Chapters 3-4). After the initial greeting (1:1-2), the apostle gives thanks for the faith, love, hope and witness to the Colossians (1.3-8). Then develops a majestic hymn to Christ in the emphasizing its role in the creation and redemption (1.15-23). Before the superior value of Christ and his work, Paul gladly accepts the obligation to proclaim it and suffer for him (1.24-2.5). Exhorts the Colossians to assert themselves in Christ and not confusing speculations (2.6-23).
In the second section, commands Christians in Colossae to adjust their behavior to their beliefs. As Christians have died and risen with Christ (3.1-4), asked to live for please God. The urge to "do die" what is hateful to God and to "dress up" the character of Christ (3.5-17). True Christianity is also evident in the relations of husband and wife (3.18-19), children and parents (3.20-21) and slaves and masters (3.22-4.1). He concludes by talking about how we must act before unbelievers (4.2-6) and the usual farewell (4.7-18).

Jacob's life

tells the story that Jacob bought the birthright from his brother Esau for a mess of pottage (Genesis 25:34), and his wife, Rachel bought his uncle Laban in exchange for fourteen years of work. (After the first seven Laban deceived him, handing him his daughter Leah. Seven years later would give Rachel).
GOD renamed Jacob to Israel (Genesis 35:9-11) after this star in a struggle against an angel (Elohim-God) (Genesis 32:23-30), and would become the father of the Israelites.
Jacob, according to tradition, probably born in Lahai-roi, some twenty years after the marriage between Isaac and Rebecca, when that time his father was sixty years old (Genesis 25:26), and his grandfather Abraham one hundred and sixty years. Like his father, Jacob was calm disposition, because, according to the story, he was an ish tam, translated as simple or pure, in the sense of perfect simplicity. He also said that lay in store which, interpreted by many biblical scholars, is a signal to be someone very studious.
Jacob is a figure who belongs to the authentic folk tradition that lives in the imagination of a people given to grazing. Embodies the true Israel, the historical and prophetic Israel, which is continually sinning and suffering, but always looking for the birthright and blessing.

Can Chlyamdia Affect The Mouth

Abandoned by Father - Marvin Byers

have problems, then pray. You are exhausted, then you cry to God to relieve you. But the answer you get is silence so deafening silence that drowns all your thoughts least this: God is not listening, God abandoned me to.
Do you feel abandoned? Other believers have felt the same. Read the writings of Oswald Chambers, Charles Spurgeon, and D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, and discover that they also knew well the agony that you experience.
After CS Lewis lost his wife, he cried out to God for comfort but did not feel any response. Confused, he asked, "What I can say to this? Why is this commanding in our times of prosperity and very absent a help in our times of difficulty? "
Take comfort in knowing that even in difficult times and times when you feel that God has removed His presence, are an essential part your spiritual experience. God has not forsaken you, but feel it is. Other believers have traveled the dark road where his career ended successfully completing their journey.
Jesus himself experienced this experience, my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?.

Why are we saved?

Sal 106:8 But he saved them for his name's sake, to make known his power.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Sal
106:6 We have sinned, just as our fathers have done wrong and acted with evil. Psalm 106:7
When our parents were in Egypt, did not take into account your wonders were not present your infinite goodness and revolted by the sea, the Red Sea.

Poems To Daughter At Christmas

The road that leads to revival - Marvin Byers

What is the path that leads to genuine revival? Why
because the Prophet Jeremiah inspired by the Spirit of God has written this?: Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk in it, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said: We will not walk.

The genuine revival is not a great conglomeration of crowds, crowds gathered is jumping and dancing.
Genuine Revival consists of three things
1 º) A strong awareness among the people of God's presence, aware that God is in their midst.
2 º) is that there is a deep awareness among the people of your great need spiritual.
3 º) is a deep spirit of repentance continuum, not just looking for the impulse, but repent of our ways and choosing the ways of the Lord every day and at all times.

Littles Petshop Clipart

are few who are saved .. why?

went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
And someone said, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said:
Strive to enter through the narrow door, because I say that many seek to enter and will not.
After the householder has risen up and shut the door and begin to stand outside knocking on the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open, the response will tell you: do not know where you are.
Then you will say: Before you have eaten and drunk, and taught in our streets. But
I say, I tell you do not know where you are: depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves thrust out.

Bloody Puss In The Ear

a passage warning about the potential impact of the spirit of Antichrist in the church, and the protection provided by God for believers to this hazard. Children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist is coming, even now are there many antichrists whereby we know that is the last time.
went out from us, but were not of us, because if they had been of us, would have remained with us, but came to be manifest that not all of us. Jua 6:66 Since then many of his disciples turned back and walked with him. So Jesus asked the Twelve:
6:67 Jua - Do you also want to leave?

You went out from us ... LIFE?

God has left evidence of the blessed reality of that eternal life is in His Son Jesus Christ. God's method to obtain it is through faith in Jesus Christ, without works. A simple method that goes against the pride of man. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son.
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son.
who has the Son has life: he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and to believe in the name of the Son of God.
